F.A.Q.

The title: Wonder Full. I got it, of all places, from a billboard. For the record, I hate billboards: distracting advertizing that endangers as it sells and half the time ruins the beauty of a gorgeous landscape. But I digress... It was a billboard for a Garden, a not-for-profit, and it was clever.

The screen name: pcrucifer - it is scientific-speak. Every species has a two word scientific name in Latin. The first half of the scientific name is often shortened to the initial, as H. sapiens is short for Homo sapiens, as in you and I (apologies to my non-human fans, if any). One of my favorite creatures is the spring peeper, a small frog with an X or "cross" on its back. The spring peeper is a harbinger of spring, a sign of life returning to what had recently been a frozen land. The spring peeper is very loud, for his size. Anyway, the scientific name for spring peeper is Pseudacris crucfier, or P. crucifer.

Good quote from Devotional Classics (edited by Richard Foster and James Bryan Smith):
"Eternity is at our hearts, pressing upon our time-torn lives, warming us with intimations of an astounding destiny, calling us home unto Itself." --Thomas Kelly in A Testament of Devotion

In the beginning...

"Let there be..."

There is power to words, power to create, or to invite the spoken to be. I saw yellow walnut leaves falling today in a crisp fall rain. The colors were sharp as if awakened from the haze of summer, blazing the short time before Michigan snow wipes the work to black and white.

There. I created, in a small way, autumn for you. I invited you to my expereince. Enjoy.

I suppose a few words are in order as to why I am writing. Really, I do not know. I suppose to share the journey, to join in fellow creation through words. To share photos with friends and family, those I know and those who wander here from Elsewhere. But more than anything else, to try in some small way to instill wonder in creation, Creator, and the mere fact that we are at all.
